modem output port for working service
- Customer can supply
any or all items, but will be responsible for their installation and
testing
- Cannon
Valley will not install any items in the computer or
configure computer software
- Filters, also
called POTS splitters or line conditioners, need to be placed between
the phone(s) and the DSL line
- Customer must
choose to either purchase the surge protector or not purchase the
surge protector.
CyberPower Surge Protectors provide up
to $100,000 lifetime equipment guarantee on electronic equipment
plugged in to it.
NOTE:
- Installation includes circuit provisioning in the
Central Office, a trip to the customer’s premise to verify
satisfactory service and to advise the customer on modem provisioning
and the need for telephone filters. Installation does not include
special wiring if needed; such wiring will be on a time and materials
basis over and above the DSL Non-Recurring Installation Charge, e.g.
CAT 5 or wiring to hubs, servers, routers.
- Filters for the telephone sets will only be sold to
the customer and will be quoted depending on type (inline, wall jack,
etc.) and quantity.
- Speedy Internet DSL service is sold only with an
unlimited Internet additive
- To connect multiple computers, it is strongly
recommended to use a broadband router rather than a hub for better
performance and security.
Who can use Speedy Internet DSL?
If the customer’s home or business is
within 3 cable miles of BEVCOMM's Cannon Valley central offices (Bricelyn,
Freeborn, Frost, and Morristown), a high speed Internet connection can
be delivered. DSL availability beyond that will be determined based upon
distance from AFC cabinets in the plant.
Customer Requirements
1. The customer needs a phone line
installed near their computer
2. The customer needs a Network Interface Card (NIC) installed in their
computer. (10 Mbps or 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Card will work)
